Junior Inspector; HR2026-JI01

Role Overview

The Junior Inspector supports manufacturing and assembly operations by performing Visual and dimensional inspections to ensure manufactured and sourced components meet specified tolerances, drawings, and quality standards. Working under the supervision of Quality Supervisor and Quality Inspector, the role involves using precision measuring equipment as well as documenting results and reporting non-conformances. This role requires excellent attention to detail, ability to measure and verify tight tolerances, and to carry out approved metrology practises.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out visual and dimensional inspection of various machined and sourced components to specifications and drawings using a wide variety of equipment. IE Vernier calipers, micrometer, bore gauge, screw ring and plug gauge, height gauges etc.
• Operate profile projector, Shaft Scanner and CMMs to determine component conformity.
• Carry out first off, in process, last off and batch inspection.
• Generate NCRs for supervisor approval for internal and sourced parts/components.
• Report to Quality Supervisor on the performance of the QMS: on opportunities for improvement: on change requirements: on innovations.
• Ensure processes are delivering intended outcomes.
• Comply with the requirements of the ISO9001:2015 QMS
• Comply with the requirements of the ISO14001: 2015 EMS
• Communicate findings across departments.
• Update and maintain inspection documents.

What are we looking for

• Time-served engineering apprenticeship with and NVQ/SVQ Level 3 or other equivalent.
• GCSE Maths level 6
• Experience of working in a similar Inspector role would be preferred.
• Clear and demonstrated understanding of drawing interpretation, calibration, dimensional and visual inspection.
• High tolerance background preferred. (Aerospace/motorsport)
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to follow processes and procedures.
• Strong communication skills.
• Self-motivated and confident.
• Competent with Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
