Business Applications Manager; HR2024-BS01

We are seeking an experienced professional to manage changes to our business applications, ensuring they effectively support and enhance the goals of the organisation.

At Gibson, we rely on in-house-developed applications, which we plan to migrate over to commercial software solutions.

In addition to managing the applications, this role may also lead to a future opportunity to replace the IT Support Manager, managing a team of two, with responsibility for the IT infrastructure.

The role is full-time based at our head office in Repton, Derbyshire.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the administration, maintenance, and optimisation of business applications.
  • Analyse, develop and implement a strategic plan for developing our business applications in line with the wider business strategy.
  • Support software supplier selection for new applications.
  • Support the implementation process and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, providing updates on project status, system performance and strategic initiatives.
  • Provide training and application support to all users.
  • Manage relationships with software vendors and service providers.
  • Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry trends.

 

Skills Required:

  • Minimum five years industry experience of supplier project delivery and implementation.
  • Strong reporting and database experience.
  • Extensive software knowledge including Microsoft products.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Sub Assembly Technician; HR2024-SA01

Are you passionate about solving problems, learning new technologies and have a keen eye for detail? We are looking for a talented individual who is confident, has attention to detail and is keen on developing new skills to work as part of an established team.

The role involves assembling, dismantling, measuring and rebuilding engine components in accordance with Gibson’s processes and methods to a very high level of quality. In this role you will join a team of highly skilled professionals who are committed to ensuring every engine is built to a very high level of quality.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assembly of precision components.
  • Dimensional measurement of assemblies during strip and assembly.
  • Recording detailed data both on hard copy and electronically.
  • Ability to produce clear, concise and accurate technical reports.
  • Working in partnership with all departments to achieve targets.
  • Work closely with engine assembly / manufacturing departments to identify and help resolve production and quality issues.

 

Skills Required:

  • Time served in an automotive / engineering apprenticeship or experience working in a similar role / environment.
  • Computer literacy and proficiency with standard Office tools (Microsoft Word, Excel etc).
  • Exposure of working to tight deadlines in a demanding environment and use of investigative techniques to identify and solve problems.
  • Desire to learn new technologies.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • High levels of motivation and a flexible approach in terms of working hours.
