Official entries for the 2017 endurance season have been announced, with Gibson GK428 engines powering all LMP2 sportscars in the European Le Mans Series, World Endurance Championship and the Le Mans 24 Hours.
In ELMS thirteen cars have entered LMP2, all of which will compete with Gibson’s newly developed 4.2 litre V8 engines. The full ten LMP2 cars in WEC will also be powered by the GK428. The prestigious Le Mans 24 hour race features twenty five LMP2 cars on the grid with Gibson engines.
Teams competing in LMP2 in ELMS, WEC and Le Mans 24 hours will race with Gibson engines installed in one of the approved chassis suppliers; Dallara, Onroak (Ligier), ORECA or Riley Multimatic.
The IMSA Weathertech Championship in the USA also has four teams racing throughout the season powered by Gibson.
