The second round of the European Le Mans Series took place at the weekend, with the 4 hours of Imola, Italy. Gibson Technology were there to support their LMP2 teams, with G Drive (Jota Sport) competing with their Gibson 015S with Gibson-Nissan engine and five other teams powered by Gibson-Nissan engines (SMP, Krohn, Panis Barthez, Greaves, Algarve).
The driver trio of Simon Dolan, Harry Tincknell and Guido Van der Garde in the G Drive Gibson put in a strong performance and were in 2nd position going into the final hour of the race. The dry conditions then turned and the extremely wet track forced the decision to race under full course yellow and the race ended being led by the safety car.
G Drive took second on the podium, a great result for the team following their win at Silverstone last month. They increase their ELMS Championship lead, looking ahead to Le Mans 24 hours in June.
Next stop is the Le Mans test day on 5th June.
