Successful start to 2026 season – 24 Hours of Daytona

It was a successful start for Gibson Technology’s competitive 2026 race season when we were back in action supporting 13 cars at the Rolex 24 at Daytona International Speedway in Florida.

As you’d expect, it was an incident filled weekend, including plenty of close action, racing incidents and penalties, plus action-packed closing stages of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship race.

Frustratingly for the teams, and motorsport fans, over six hours of the race took place behind the safety car due to fog causing poor visibility throughout the night, making it the longest FCY in Daytona 24 Hour history.

Even with the challenging weather conditions, it turned out to be a great event for Gibson Technology, with all of our engines performing well across the full 24-hour period.

Indeed, there were no engine-related interventions for Gibson Technology during the race, which is a fantastic achievement, and is testament to the preparation of the team back at the factory in Repton in the UK.

Congratulations to all of the Gibson powered teams competing over the weekend at Daytona.

We’re now looking forward to our next race weekend, this coming weekend at the Asian Le Mans Series in Dubai.
