Purchasing Assistant: HR2021-PA01

Gibson Technology Ltd is an established world leader in the design, development & manufacture of cost effective, high-performance, internal combustion racing engines.

We have the following opportunity to work at our prestigious engineering facilities within the Purchasing department. We are looking for an individual who is confident, willing to learn new skills and is able to demonstrate the following qualities.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Support the Purchasing and Production Planning teams
  • Supplier engagement including seeking quotes, negotiating prices, confirming lead times, expediting live orders, etc.
  • General clerical duties
  • Inputting information and orders onto various data bases
  • Formulating order requirements from stock management information
  • Responsible for raising purchase orders for Plant, Health & Safety and Consumables
  • Developing and maintaining in house MS Excel workbooks
  • Project support & administration such as; arrange and attend meetings, taking minutes and developing action plans
  • Able to manage multiple projects
  • Working in partnership with all departments to achieve targets

Skill set required

  • Administrative experience
  • Computer literacy and proficiency with standard Office tools (Microsoft Word, PowerPoint etc.).
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel would be desirable
  • Knowledge of Sage an advantage
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Driven and motivated
  • Experience of working to tight deadlines in a demanding environment and use of investigative techniques to identify and solve problems
  • High levels of motivation and a flexible approach in terms of working hours

Mechanical Design Engineer: HR2021-E1

Gibson Technology Ltd is an established world leader in the design, development & manufacture of cost effective, high-performance, internal combustion racing engines.

More recently, we have established a capability to develop state of the art electrical machines & power electronics under our Gibson Power Systems branding & we currently have the following employment opportunity available:

 

Role and responsibilities

The successful candidate will join our close-knit Engineering team, working together to support the mechanical design aspects of a range of interesting, innovative & challenging projects. This role presents the opportunity to be involved in new products over their full life-cycle from concept & mechanical design, right through to customer applications & support, allowing significant input into the end result.

 

Duties will include:

  • Powertrain engineering concept & detailed design.
  • Gearbox design.
  • Component design in 3D CAD (Creo) producing models, assemblies & drawings for manufacture.
  • FEA analysis (Creo Simulate)
  • Management of bills of materials, & build / usage manuals.

 

Skill set required

The candidate should have the following qualifications, skills & experience:

  • Honours Degree in Mechanical or Automotive Engineering.
  • 4+ years of experience in a similar role / environment.
  • Excellent 3D modelling & detailed design skills (ideally using Creo but not a pre-requisite).
  • Electrical machine, mechanical design & internal combustion engine knowledge.
  • A good knowledge of engineering manufacture processes.
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with standard office tools (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project etc).
  • High levels of motivation & a flexible approach in terms of working hours.

We are looking for a talented individual who is confident, willing to learn new skills, holds high level NVQ or equivalent certificates and is able to demonstrate the following qualities.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Assembly of precision components.
  • Dimensional measurement of assemblies during strip and assembly.
  • Recording detailed data both on hard copy and electronically.
  • Ability to produce clear, concise and accurate technical reports.
  • Working in partnership with all departments to achieve targets.
  • Work closely with engine assembly / manufacturing departments to identify and help resolve production and quality issues.

 

Skill set required

  • Time served in an automotive / engineering apprenticeship or experience working in a similar role / environment.
  • Computer literacy and proficiency with standard Office tools (Microsoft Word, Excel etc.).
  • Experience of working to tight deadlines in a demanding environment and use of investigative techniques to identify and solve problems.
  • Desire to learn new technologies.
  • High levels of motivation and a flexible approach in terms of working hours.

The role requires mechanical assembly of electric motors and generators. We are looking for a talented individual who is confident, willing to learn new skills, holds high level NVQ or equivalent certificates and is able to demonstrate the following qualities.

Apprenticeships

An apprenticeship is an excellent way to learn from some of the best people in the engineering industry. Joining us as an apprentice you will have the opportunity to experience many different disciplines while you are obtaining a National recognised qualification.

A small number of Apprenticeships are available each year in the Mechanical Engineering discipline.

From day one you will join a structured training programme which will give you the understanding to become the Technician or Engineer that you want to be. You will be hands on while at work and be required to attend college one day a week. Once you have completed your apprenticeship you will be given the opportunity to continue with your education and career progression within the company.
