Junior Electrical Technician : HR2019-E1

Are you passionate about solving problems, learning new technologies and have a keen eye for detail? We are seeking a Junior Electrical Technician to work as part of a small team to manufacture, test and service electrical components and wiring systems from our range of racing powertrains.

Based at our prestigious engineering facility in Repton, Derbyshire and following a period of training, the successful candidate will be expected to follow our processes and methods to assemble racing specification electrical harnesses using military connectors and Raychem products to a very high level of quality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and test of electrical wiring harnesses.
  • Build and test electrical components and sensor assemblies.
  • Fault finding and repair of electrical harnesses.
  • Working in partnership with other departments within our organisation to achieve targets.
  • Investigate product quality issues within cross functional teams.
  • Work closely with engine assembly to resolve production and quality system issues.

Skill Set Required

  • Good assembly and hand skills.
  • Desire to learn new technologies.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Computer literacy and proficiency with standard Office tools (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project etc).
  • Experience working in a similar role / environment would be an advantage but training will be provided.
  • Experience of working to tight deadlines in a demanding environment and use of investigative techniques to identify and solve problems.
  • Previous experience of automotive electrical wiring and related systems.
  • Industrial control experience would be advantageous.
  • Ability to interface with design, development, manufacturing and assembly departments.

This full time, factory-based role presents a great opportunity for a person who is highly motivated and can adopt a flexible approach to problem solving within a team environment.

In time, the possibility exists to expand this role into other areas of work including portable electrical power generation and potential assistance with electrical systems at race events.

We are looking for skilled and talented individuals who are time served and hold high level NVQ or equivalent certificates to join our manufacturing department, becoming integral members of our team producing high precision components.

CNC Machining Centre Programmer & Operator : HR2019-M02

Role and responsibilities

  • Machine to high standards of quality and precision.
  • Set up tooling and fixturing and execute part programs.
  • Manage the programming of updates and new components.
  • Support design and production engineering on the deployment of methodologies.
  • Carry out in-process inspection to include cmm operation.
  • Re-enforce the department’s positive approach to knowledge sharing and supporting apprentices.

Skill set required

  • Solid background in precision machining.
  • Competence and familiarity of programming with Fanuc control systems.
  • Capable of manufacturing highly detailed components.
  • Able to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings.
  • Able to work with minimum supervision.
  • High levels of motivation and a flexible approach in terms of working hours.
  • Ability to positively interact with Design, CAM, Quality Control and Assembly departments.

We will also consider talented individuals who have proven CNC manual programming experience and can demonstrate a willingness to learn new technology.

Apprenticeships

An apprenticeship is an excellent way to learn from some of the best people in the engineering industry. Joining us as an apprentice you will have the opportunity to experience many different disciplines while you are obtaining a National recognised qualification.

A small number of Apprenticeships are available each year in the Mechanical Engineering discipline.

From day one you will join a structured training programme which will give you the understanding to become the Technician or Engineer that you want to be. You will be hands on while at work and be required to attend college one day a week. Once you have completed your apprenticeship you will be given the opportunity to continue with your education and career progression within the company.
