2016 Le Mans Prototype Race Season

The LMP2 entries have been announced for the 2016 race season, with Gibson chassis and Gibson-Nissan powered engines featuring strongly in the European Le Mans Series, FIA World Endurance Championship and the Le Mans 24 hours.

In ELMS fifteen cars have entered, of which two teams (Greaves Motorsport and G Drive Racing) will race with the Gibson 015S chassis. Seven of the LMP2s will also be powered by Gibson-Nissan engines (2 x Greaves, Panis/Barthez, Algarve, Courage, G Drive, Krohn).

A total of ten LMP2 cars will compete in the FIA WEC, one Gibson 015S chassis will race with Strakka and six will be powered by Gibson-Nissan engines (2 x SMP, 2 x ESM, Strakka, RGR Morand).

The prestigious Le Mans 24 hour race features twenty two LMP2 cars on the grid. G Drive and Strakka will race with the Gibson 015S, with the Greaves team first on the reserve list with their Gibson 015S. LMP2s competing with Gibson-Nissan engines number ten in total (Panis/Barthez, SMP x 2, ESM x 2, G Drive, Krohn, Greaves, Strakka, RGR Morand).

The season starts for ELMS and WEC at Silverstone on 16th-17th April.
