Taiwanese Ambassador Visits Gibson Technology

A delegation from the Taiwanese Representative Office recently visited Gibson Technology in Repton.  The delegation included Ambassador Liu, Mr Terry Lee, Director Economic Division, Mr Donald Lu, Managing Director of the Taiwan Trade Centre.

The main purpose of the visit was for the Representative Office to become better acquainted with companies within South Derbyshire and to understand what they are able to offer each other.

Dr Liu Chih-Kung visited the county after being invited by South Derbyshire MP Heather Wheeler.   She said: “Taiwan is a very fast growing economy. One of my main efforts has been helping companies in South Derbyshire match up with good countries to export to.  Over the last two or three years the relationship has grown so well that Ambassador Liu agreed to come to Derbyshire and it was a real pleasure show him our fantastic companies. I am delighted at the opportunities that this visit has created”.

John Manchester Operations Director Gibson Technology commented: “We were delighted and honoured to show the delegation around our engineering facilities in Repton.  We are currently expanding into other areas outside of the motorsport arena and this visit presented us with the perfect opportunity to demonstrate our extensive engineering capabilities. Taiwan is indeed a huge potential market for the UK and by hosting the delegation we hope to build a strong relationship that will further enhance the trade and investment relationship between our company and Taiwan.”
